Operation

Operation is simple. The PIR sensor detects movement within the control area, switching on the timer in the unit's box. The Solenoid coil water valve opens after a pre-set delay. Water flows rapidly into the cistern and flushing follows. This programme is over-ridden if the lapse time exceeds 12 hours to ensure hygienic conditions prevail.

The Need For Control

Urinals either flush too often, or not often enough, depending on usage and building occupancy. Byelaw 82-83 REGS indicates MAXIMUM flushing volumes per bowl. At busy times, 2-4 flushes per hour may be required depending on tank size, but total volumes should not be exceeded. Health and Safety Regulations demand one complete flush every 24 hrs for unoccupied buildings. Turning off completely is not an option.
